1st Move

Founded by Darren and Claire Sumner approx 9 years ago, 1st Move operates at Uckfield Civic Centre in the centre of Uckfield on a Thursday evening. It is currently managed by JiveCraft's Steve and Julie whilst Darren and Claire are on sebatical.

Lessons start at 8pm with a beginners lesson, usually by Steve, lasting approx 45 mins. There will be 3 to 4 moves taught, broken down into easy to manage pieces. The last move will be an improver move to help you progress with your dancing.

The intermediate lesson is at 9.00pm until 9.45pm, usually taught by Julie or on occasion by guest teachers, this will contain another 3 or 4 moves usually including either some footwork or dips and often new moves that you won't see taught anywhere else!

Repeat beginners runs during the intermediate lesson in a different area.

Several crew members are available to help dancers practice thier moves.

Our own Dj provides quality tunes throughout the evening.

Price is £7 on the door, but a package of 4 weeks dancing is available for only £20! (conditions apply, unless a special promotion is running whereby it can be cheaper).

There are regular theme nights and special events.
